What A Picture Is Worth

I’ve been obsessed with mediums John Edward and Lisa Williams for a long time. Back in the early 2000s when I wasn’t doing anything related to intuitive readings or healing work, I loved watching their TV shows where they connected to people’s loved ones on the other side.

Even though I wasn't drawn to meditating back then, I did try one of John Edward’s meditations for contacting a loved one who had passed. After the visualization exercise, I waited a few minutes for a sign and then heard a noise come from the kitchen. A framed picture of Coco, my cat when I was growing up, had separated itself from its magnet and fallen to the floor from the fridge. “It worked!!!” I yelped to myself. It really worked.

Recently a client told me a picture of her dog fell off a shelf inexplicably, on the anniversary of the dog’s passing.

Yesterday, my friend Diana told me she asked her mother’s cat Katja to give her a sign that she was ok on the other side. The following day, Diana walked by a table of about twelve pictures, didn’t come near to touching the table, and one of the frames fell over. It was a photo of Katja.

Last week I spent six days in a mediumship training workshop with Lisa Williams. I really couldn’t believe I was in the same room as her, and I soaked up everything I could from her.

Every day we students practiced in different pairs, doing mediumship readings for each other. The first day, my reading partner described what sounded like my grandfather. Then she said, “Jersey shore. Boardwalk. Winter. A long time ago.” At home I have a photo of my grandparents on their honeymoon in Atlantic City. They’re standing on the boardwalk with winter coats on.

In the weeks leading up to the workshop, I tried to connect with my loved ones on the other side during my morning meditations. To my delight, I began to see my grandmother and grandfather in vivid detail, noticing details I hadn’t thought about in years.

A shaman once told me that she talked to her mother more after her mother passed than when her mother was alive. “They’re still right here, just on another plane,” the shaman explained. I know that to be true—in my work I talk to animals who are alive and crossed over, and there’s no real difference in the communication. And now that I've talked to people on the other side, I know it's super similar to connecting with our furry loved ones.

Even though we miss our loved ones on the other side terribly, they are right here. Once you make an effort to connect through love, they’ll do whatever they can to make it easy for you to see them (or feel, hear, or smell them!).

Go ahead and try it. They’ll move mountains (or picture frames) to let you know they’re ok—and that’s worth about a gazillion words.

It’s all about the magic. 🙌
