5 Easy Ways to Support Your Intuition

In my early exploration of intuitive animal communication, I worked with horses named Cosmo and Elisa in Costa Rica. One day, our practice sessions took place in the pasture āĀ I stood at one end, as Cosmo and Elisa grazed with their herd peacefully at the other end.

My teacher asked me to close my eyes, invite Elisaās energy in and ask her for a message. I did so, and it worked great. I experienced a strong intuitive connection with her and received her message loud and clear.
Ā
Still with my eyes shut, I heard my teacher ask me to do the same with Cosmo. This time it felt like I was faced with a static-filled tv screen āĀ no connection, just fuzz. When I explained this to my teacher, she laughed and told me to open my eyes. There Elisa stood, right in front of me, face in my face. I hadnāt realized that when sheād connected in with me, she also physically walked across the pasture to me. We were still very energetically connected, which was blocking any communication with Cosmo. In my intuitive bliss, Iād forgotten to disconnect my energy before I reached out to Cosmo.
Ā
I closed my eyes again, respectfully disconnected from Elisa, and invited Cosmoās energy in. Ah, there was that solid intuitive connection thankfully, as Cosmo came through with signs of his delightful personality. My teacher laughed again and asked me to open my eyes. Now Cosmo was standing in front of me, his gorgeous face in my face. Elisa stood off to the side.
Ā
I loved how Cosmo and Elisa easily received my energetic messages and knew it was I who was calling. The fact that they both chose to walk across the pasture and come face to face with me as if to say, āYou rang??ā filled my heart and blew my mind. It was pure magic.
Ā
The idyllic setting of a Costa Rican retreat and the amazing horse teachers definitely helped me to build my psychic super powers. Afterwards, I wondered how to continue to support my intuition and feel clear in my daily life at home as the mere mortal I am. As humans, itās easy for us to hold onto energy or get distracted, which can muddle up the intuitive highway (like a metaphorical Elisa blocking the path).
Ā
Here are some easy go-to practices that work for me to support intuition and stay clear:
Ā
1.Ā Ā Ā Ā Hydrate.Ā Drinking plenty of water is a must when Iām doing readings and Reiki for clients, and I try to incorporate it during days off too. It keeps everything flowing within you and literally helps balance and calm the nervous system, which sets the stage for all kinds of clarity.
Ā
2.Ā Ā Ā Ā Lower sugar intake.Ā This was a huge challenge for me, but has paid off tremendously. Added sugars can disrupt our focus and cause swings in mood and energy levels. I feel more me without it, and to access your intuition, the more you can truly be your balanced self, the better.
Ā
3.Ā Ā Ā Ā Listen. I love to take a moment, get quiet, and just listen. Usually, Iāll hear a sound that I hadnāt been conscious of, like a faraway airplane, sweet birdsong, or the hum of my fridge. The more you do it, the more your whole being gets used to accessing your opened-up and awakened spidey senses.
Ā
4.Ā Ā Ā Ā Feel. Whenever youāre faced with a decision, small or large, ask yourself how the options feel, instead of thinking, analyzing, or dissecting. This gets you used to tapping into your inner wisdom (we all have the answers, but they arenāt in our brain) and to connecting with the energy of possibilities.
Ā
5.Ā Ā Ā Ā Play a game. Iāve found the best ones for intuition building are Wordle and the memory game where you turn tiles over to match pairs. In both cases, just allow an idea to pop into your consciousness. It requires being open and not judging ā the perfect combo for thriving intuition.
Ā
Those are just a few āĀ you can add meditation, yoga, hugging a tree...Anything that feels within reach in a typical day. Soon youāll be as tuned in as your animals.
Ā
Every morning when I wake up, before Iāve even moved or opened my eyes, my cat Calla comes out of nowhere and jumps onto the bed (itās her version of a bee-line across the pasture). It doesnāt matter where she is in the apartment, she knows the minute Iām awake. Itās really first nature (not second) for animals to be so naturally tuned in. Weāre animals too, and I swear to you itās our first nature as well. Use the tools that resonate with you, and youāll connect with such beautiful intuitive guidance, itāll be as clear as Cosmo (I mean as clear as day). š“š

My cat knows I'm awake even before I do! I'm in a dream and then I hear her jump on the bed and meow her way over to me and then she's sniffing my breathāit's the only time she puts her face near my face.š¤š¤š§”
