I recently binge-watched 3, 2, 1 McCartney on Hulu, a six-part series featuring conversation between Paul McCartney and producer Rick Rubin. The moment that struck me most was when McCartney spoke of how he met George Harrison. They both attended the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys and rode the same bus, but they didn’t know each other until one day when George got on the bus, he sat in the empty seat next to Paul.
The two teenagers started talking about music and guitars, and you could say the rest is history. In the Hulu show, McCartney says that he’s often asked about the magic of the Beatles, and that’s what he considers magic—that George sat next to him that day.
Another cool part is when McCartney talks about waking up having the song Yesterday in his head. He’d heard it in his dream and woke up humming it, assuming it was a song that already existed, written by someone else. He played it for John Lennon and their producer George Martin and asked them what song it was, convinced he’d heard it somewhere in his waking life. They of course had never heard it before, and McCartney realized…his subconscious wrote it?
The other day I was talking to some friends about how I ended up studying Reiki and animal communication. If I hadn’t gone to a psychic who advised me to get a Reiki session to help my health issues, I’d have never found the Reiki Master I ended up studying with. When I was stuck in grief over the passing of my cat Willow, that Reiki Master told me about an animal communicator she’d just discovered online, and that’s the person with whom I ended up getting certified in animal communication.
Then I think, I wouldn’t have met that original psychic if an old friend hadn’t emailed me out of the blue to see if I wanted to go with her to a shamanic healing class at the New York Open Center. And you know what? The night before I got that friend’s email, I had read about a shaman in a book, and I stopped and thought…I need to see a shaman.
I found this McCartney quote today: “Life is an energy field, a bunch of molecules. And these particular molecules formed to make these four guys, who then formed this band called the Beatles and did all that work. I have to think that was something metaphysical. Something that must be thought of as magic.”
I one-hundred percent agree. I feel that there’s always this energy around us…universal energy plus angels, guides, loved ones on the other side…that’s always working with our energy to put things in our path, like "random" seat mates or songs in our head. There are things we already know, that seem to come to us through a friend or a crazy dream, but they really come from within—sometimes we just need an outside source to make it feel real. And when it all comes together, we’re in harmony with the universe, in tune with our soul’s journey.
So what do you do to guarantee that all happens? Just let it be. ✨🎵
I have written a few so gs that way.
