A couple of weeks ago, I started seeing my grandmother’s house number (her specific sign for me) way more than usual. It’s her way to remind me she’s with me, and I’ll see it out of the blue on anywhere from a digital clock to a receipt to a game on my phone. But I saw it so much in the span of a week, that a few times I stopped and thought, “Huh, I wonder what that’s all about?”, as it felt so significant. I even received a text from an unknown phone number that simply said “Hello” — the exact time it came through was my grandmother’s house number.
At the end of that week, I received news that one of my relatives had passed away. It was a shock to me, but then I realized all of those messages were my grandmother telling me she’s watching over my family. That she’d be with us when we gathered for the celebration of life, that in the hardest times, she’s still connected and loving us bigtime.
It blows me away when I receive support like that unexpectedly, without asking. For me, it’s the end-all be-all proof that we’re never alone, we’ll never fall without a net.
One time I couldn’t find my cat Calla — I looked all over the apartment, growing more and more scared that somehow she’d gotten out. Right after I asked my boyfriend if he’d seen her, our other cat Faro jumped off the couch, went straight to one of our closets, and sat staring at the closed door. I opened it to see Calla snoozing peacefully on a pile of towels. I hadn’t asked Faro directly for help, but he sprang into action and saved the day. (Since then, when I can’t find Calla, I ask Faro.)
There’s support connected to our energy fields at all times, but we can also straight-up ask for it. Often we can get lost in grief and stress and don’t think to reach out for help. Or we focus on others more than ourselves. But asking for help isn’t selfish, it’s self-love. All those signs from my grandmother actually made me want to ask her for more help because it was so clear she was right there.
I often ask my guides, angels, and loved ones on the other side to have my back with something or help me through a challenge. No plea is too big or too small.
Many times before I get on the phone to do a reading, I hear loud construction noises in my neighborhood. I need the ultimate quiet for intuitive work, so I always ask my Spirit team to provide silence and calm when I get on the phone. I swear to you, they always deliver. Why did my neighbor stop banging on his roof right as I dialed my client? Because I asked for help with that! If one of my animals has a health issue, I talk to my grandma because she was great at nursing cats back to health. Ask in your head or out loud, but then take a deep breath and give it up to them completely. You can relax because you know they’re on the case.
Take some deep belly breaths, get really clear and calm, and invite your animal (alive or on the other side) to connect with you. Ask them what they want you to know, then let go and allow. They can give you a picture in your head, a feeling, a knowing…the possibilities are endless. You may end up feeling comforted or grounded or receive an insight. One time when I was struggling with something, my cat told me she was watching over me (literally from her perch atop my dresser) and gave me a deep feeling of safety and security when I needed it most.
You have wisdom and answers within, too! I love to sit, get still, and focus my awareness into my heart space. I imagine everything that defines me in the 3D world (animal communicator, girlfriend, daughter, person of a certain age (yikes)), and I set all of that to the side. Then I allow myself to feel who I really am at my core in my heart. It feels clear there and really good (it’s the essence of your light). When you’re in that space, connected to your true self, ask a question and feel the answer. This is your heart not your head. It’s where your inner wisdom is ready to greet you with clarity and unconditional love, just like your animal, guides, angels, and loved ones on the other side.
If you feel alone or helpless, especially in the state of the world today, it’s a comfort to know help is accessible anytime, anywhere. Any feelings you experience are valid and ok, but it’s also ok to ask for help to move through them. (Or to ask for help finding a cat in a closet.) 💜
