The Playing Field of Intuitive Connection

The other day I heard a doctor talking about a device that can measure brain waves without touching the head. It’s called a MEG, and it reads the magnetic field generated by brain activity OUTSIDE a person's head.

The doctor claimed this shows that our thoughts are not in our head, but are part of an energetic field that we’re all connected by.

Right on — this is why intuitive animal communication works, why Reiki works, and why everyone on this planet is a psychic medium.

A few years back when we were moving homes, I stayed behind in the old apartment with the cats after our furniture had been loaded onto the truck. My boyfriend Adam went to the new place to supervise the move from that end. I tried to keep our cats calm and feeling safe, but Faro felt scared and confused and decided to hide in a kitchen cabinet. He’s super bonded with Adam, so the empty apartment plus the love of his life leaving was overwhelming for him.

I told Adam over text how Faro was feeling and kept checking on Faro, reassuring him as I cleaned and packed up last-minute stuff.

After a while, Faro suddenly walked out of the cabinet, completely calm, and it was clear that he now knew everything was going to be ok. Just as I was a wondering what led to this dramatic shift, Adam texted to say he was on his way back and had just tried to send Faro this message: “I’m coming back for you, Buddy. Everything’s going to be ok.”

Who needs a MEG when you can see a cat respond to a thought from two neighborhoods away in real time? (And that thought was from someone who’s not a professional intuitive animal communicator.)

Really the best example I have of the we’re-all-connected-in-the-thought-field thing is when I was sitting at my desk and noticed that the box on the floor next to me had been empty for probably six weeks or more. It was a box that Faro used to love sleeping in, but I couldn’t remember the last time I saw him in it. I made a mental note to recycle it. A few minutes later, Faro walked into the room, jumped into the box, and curled up contentedly for a snooze fest. Translation: I know what you’re thinking of doing, and here’s my two cents.

After over a month of no interest in the box, Faro gets in it shortly following my thought of disposing of it? For me, there is no realm where that is just a coincidence. “Coincidence” is a concept that we made up to downplay the very real magic of how everything is actually connected.

When I first started my Reiki practice, I went to the home of an acquaintance to do a session for one of her cats. I like to meditate briefly before I start the Reiki, so the woman said I could go into the bedroom and sit on her bed to do my thing. After several minutes by myself, connecting to love and setting intentions of balance, wellness, and healing, I opened my eyes to see one of her cats sitting right next to me on the bed, gazing at me with the hugest aura of compassion and sweetness. It felt like she came out of nowhere, like she was a magnet of love drawn to the energy field I was holding.

So let’s take the MEG-reading-brain-waves-thing up a notch…Once you know you’re naturally beaming thoughts outside of you all the time, now add focus, love, and the highest of intentions to  attract in some really good stuff.  It’s the recipe for finding answers, helping others, deepening connections, and living the best life ever.

Years ago before I had surgery, I beamed thoughts into the universe of really good people taking care of me in the hospital and visualized a smooth, successful procedure. I also asked for a Michael to show up if possible, to let me know that Archangel Michael was there watching over me. Imagine how thrilled I was when I met Michael, my anesthesiologist. His name tag as he stood over me was the last thing I saw before going under. The next morning when I woke up, a doctor named Michael introduced himself to me as the one who’d be checking in on me that day. Everything had gone great…just as I’d imagined.

Coincidence? Or (energetic) field of dreams? 💜
