Eight years ago this month, I had just received my certification in Intuitive Animal Communication and officially added that offering to my Reiki practice. I’ve been reminiscing about that time back then…Honestly, it felt like exploring the magic of the universe -- a new world full of the possibilities of energy work, intuition, and healing. I mean, in the midst of my studies, my teacher had me connect with an animal by his name only (without my knowing what type of animal) who gave me a visceral feeling of gliding head first with no legs. My teacher later revealed he was a goldfish who lived thousands of miles away. It felt like a fairy tale, but it was real life.

Eight years later and animals and the universe are still blowing me away.
Case in point, did you know the buzz of bees can be healing? I’ve just been reading about this -- it’s the specific tone of a bee hive’s hum (200 -400 Hertz, known to be the note of C) that can help heal PTSD in humans. The bee’s frequency retunes our own frequency back to calm, balance, and health.
So bees produce a vibration, and we as humans take it in to our cells and receive healing…Our energy adjusts and comes into balance because of it. Nature is just giving this therapy out at all times (and it has a name: apitherapy).
Scientific studies have shown that bees are happiest and most alert when they are buzzing in C. It’s like their joy is contagious and the best medicine. (Seriously, I think this is leading us to the answer to life, the universe and everything.)
As part of my Reiki studies years ago, I offered practice Reiki sessions to seven different cats. After each session, I was surprised to receive the same feedback from the cats’ people via email -- they all used the word “perky.” (None of the cats’ people knew each other, so they hadn’t colluded on their feedback.) So all of the cats, who were seniors and had various health issues, appeared to their people to be much spunkier after their sessions. One even tried to grab food out of their person’s hand like he’d done when he was a kitten.
Reiki is the channeling of universal life force energy (or chi), the vibration that runs through everything in nature, that’s programmed for balance and wellness. (Or as I like to think of it, a pure-love vibe.) Here the cats were taking in this naturally occurring beautiful vibration, and they became happy and alert.
Talking to animals intuitively is natural (and healing) too. It’s how animals communicate with each other all the time. In order for us to have a conversation with them, we have to clear, balance, and center our energy -- literally bringing us into a healthier state. After respectfully inviting a dog to connect with us, that dog will meet us at that clear, centered vibration and give us messages that we see, hear, feel, or know…sometimes even smell or taste. (I mean, this is as good as any fairy tale I’ve read.)
Those years ago when I started my intuitive animal communication work, I partnered with a horse named Cosmo in a workshop in Costa Rica. One day we ventured on a rocky, what I called “extreme,” trail ride that had me quite nervous. Cosmo’s natural essence however, was laid back, cool, and confident -- connecting with him felt amazing. When during the ride my mind wanted to wander into fear mode, I’d feel his energy pulling me back to my heart, where I could hear his messages loud and clear. He kept reminding me to be love and remember that this was an experience of a lifetime -- it was fun and there was nothing to worry about. In other words, be happy and alert! (Cosmo speaking to me in the key of C.)
It can actually feel like everywhere around us, nature is guiding us back to calming, centering, and balancing. It’s not hard to tune into that universal buzz. Just listen to the bees, lean against a tree, be present with your animal. It’s the ultimate healing streaming platform, and it’s free. 💜
