A few nights ago, I had a dream about Tyler, my friend Erica’s eight-year-old son. I woke up right after the dream, having a strong knowing that Tyler was the subject of it, but remembering no further details. It felt very unusual to me—I talk to Erica all the time, but she and her family live in Texas, and I get to see them only a couple times a year. I’ve never dreamed about her kids before, ever. Still in my post-dream state I thought, the next time I talk to her, I have to tell her how weird it is that I dreamed about her son…Then I promptly fell back to sleep and forgot about it.
Today I talked to Erica and the first thing she said was, I have to tell you what happened a few nights ago! All three kids were fast asleep upstairs, and Erica had fallen asleep downstairs on the couch. All of a sudden, she heard Tyler’s voice say, “Um, we have a situation up here!” Erica jumped up and a little dazed from just waking, called out to her husband Andy in the other room. Turns out he had heard no such thing coming from their son and maintained that Tyler would never use those words. But because Erica was so convinced, Andy ran upstairs. He found Tyler and their daughter fast asleep in their beds. When he opened the door to the baby’s room, he found their dog Deena waiting behind the door, chomping at the bit to escape the room. (The baby was peacefully sleeping, by the way.)
Erica is convinced that Deena, who had been shut in the room inadvertently, tried to communicate with her in some way, so someone would come and rescue her.
Here’s what I LOVE about this. Animals are always communicating with us—through their actions as well as intuitively. I have done readings of Deena in the past, and she has always expressed huge love for Erica and tons of support for her in her role as mom of three young kids. For me it makes perfect sense that Deena wouldn’t want to make noise and wake the baby, so she gave intuitive communication a shot.
Animals also know the most effective way for their humans to receive a message. It’s super personalized, which is what makes it so great. So Deena figured that Tyler’s voice calling out an SOS message would do the trick. She likely pulled me into the equation because she knew we could communicate intuitively, so maybe it would amp up the connection—kind of like more bars on your phone. I ended up having a dream the context of which I couldn’t remember, but Tyler stood out super strongly. I didn’t need to know anything more than that though, because Erica got the message loud and clear.
And the best part? Erica doesn’t do what I do for a living. So like I always say, anyone can communicate intuitively with their animals. And Erica wasn’t even trying. She’s simply open to my work and believes there’s something to it. Deena, I think, would agree.
It’s all about the magic. 🙌
